Dr. Tabby Van der Walt
Physician/OwnerDr. Van der Walt is the founding physician of BTS Advanced Skin & Medical Spa and has been practicing medicine for over 35 years. As part of a father-daughter team, he works alongside his daughter Sammi to bring together medical expertise and modern clinic leadership.
Dr. Van der Walt focuses on preventative skin health and early detection, offering specialized services such as comprehensive skin checks, advanced mole mapping, lesion assessments, biopsies, and skin cancer screening.
Originally from South Africa, Dr. Van der Walt completed his medical degree there before further advancing his training with dermatology certification from Bond University in Australia. He has a long-standing passion for skin pathology, early diagnosis, and preventative skin medicine, and is committed to helping patients better understand and care for their skin through thorough assessments and advanced diagnostic technology.
Sammi Smythe
Manager/OwnerSammi is the co-owner and clinic director of BTS Advanced Skin & Medical Spa, working alongside her father, Dr. Van der Walt, to build a clinic that blends medical expertise with advanced aesthetic technology.
Sammi holds a degree in Business and certifications in Medical Aesthetics, bringing both operational leadership and industry knowledge to the clinic. She oversees the day-to-day operations of BTS, ensuring the clinic runs smoothly while maintaining a high standard of patient care and experience.
Originally from South Africa, Sammi grew up around medicine and developed a strong appreciation for patient care from an early age. At BTS, she focuses on clinic growth, patient experience, and integrating the latest technology and treatments to support healthy, confident skin.
Alex
Medical AestheticianAlex is the medical aesthetician at BTS Advanced Skin & Medical Spa and has been working in the aesthetic industry for over six years. She obtained her Medical Aesthetic certification from The Esthetic Institute in Calgary and has continued to build her expertise through hands-on clinical experience and advanced treatment training.
Alex provides a wide range of aesthetic services including laser treatments, skin rejuvenation procedures, and non-invasive skin tightening. She takes a personalized, results-driven approach to skin care, helping patients improve skin tone, texture, and overall skin health.
Known for her attention to detail and patient-focused care, Alex works closely with each client to create customized treatment plans that align with their skin goals while maintaining a natural, healthy look.
Amy
Customer Service RepresentativeOriginally from Ontario, Amy brings a diverse professional background and people-first approach to BTS Advanced Skin & Medical Spa, helping create a welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable and supported.
Amy’s professional career began as a Program Coordinator with the Boys & Girls Club, where she developed a passion for community, communication, and helping others. She later spent 15 years working in the construction industry, where she built a strong work ethic and developed valuable skills in organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving.
At BTS, Amy supports patients throughout their visit while helping ensure the clinic operates smoothly. She values the opportunity healthcare provides for lifelong learning, clear communication, and meaningful work that makes a positive difference in people’s lives.
Eleri
Customer Service RepresentativeEleri is originally from a small village in Wales, UK. She grew up speaking Welsh as her first language and has a deep love for her country, its culture, and its traditions. Her upbringing in a close-knit community helped shape her strong values around service, teamwork, and helping others.
Before joining BTS Advanced Skin & Medical Spa, Eleri spent three and a half years serving as an ambassador at a military academy in Wales. During that time, she developed a strong passion for service and leadership, which continues to influence her approach to patient care today.
At BTS, Eleri plays an important role in creating a welcoming and supportive environment for every patient who walks through the door. Her warm personality and positive energy help ensure each visit feels comfortable, friendly, and well cared for.
